The reform comes in human civilization when something other than the humans, gets what we call ‘intelligence’. The Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology is taking over the existent technologies, amplifying our human intelligence. Which of us have not asked Siri or OK Google to help us in dire needs or just because hands were busy eating pizza? From technical assistants to self-driving cars, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is taking over our everyday lives at a rapid pace.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) does not necessarily means robots taking over our human species as portrayed by our sci-fi movies and books. It constitutes of everything from Google’s search algorithms to IBM’s Watson to autonomous weapons.
It’s now designed as narrow Artificial Intelligence (AI), to perform narrow tasks such as voice identification, facial recognition or only internet searches or might be just driving a car.
Now, there have been some dour predictions about the very potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Billionaire Elon Musk, Co-Founder of Tesla, declared Artificial Intelligence (AI) more dangerous than North Korea. On the contrary his billionaire friend, owner of Microsoft, Bill Gates said that development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) means longer vacations for humans. Machine learning will make humans more productive and therefore able to accomplish the same amount of work in less time.
Surveillance, security and transcription are several areas where machine learning will make things faster and cheaper. Ideally, that freed up labour can go to industries that need it.
So, imagine if you could transcript everything said anywhere, it would make life so much simpler and queryless. Things that get lost in going from one hand to another could be kept original and live.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is more than just your cell phone handling your emails in near future. It’s about to change the very definition of digital technology.
